Disney+ Could Be A Poison Apple to Netflix

-Matt Grisham

For those of you who have been living under a rock Disney+, the new streaming service being created by Walt Disney, has made some huge annoucements. We now have a idea on what kinds of content will be offered and it’s AMAZING.

A mix of Walt Disney Pictures, Lucas Film, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Marvel Studios, 20th Centrury Fox and National Geographic this high profile streaming service is set to take the market by storm. The platform is expected to have over 7000+ titles and 500+ movies, though the initial release will feature a little less at around 5000+ Titles and 100+ movies.

Disney has also announced that a variety of new content will be created for the channel including a reboot of the High School Musical series, New Hawkeye series, Monster Inc tv show, and more. This new content alone would be reasoning enough for most to jump on the band wagon, but access to classic favorites are sure to bring the masses. It is reported that streamers will have access to movies and shows like: Honey I Shrink The Kids, Disney Channel Original Movies, All the Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribean, Santa Clauses franchise, National Treasure and more.

The new streaming service is coming in at a time in were the market is highly saturated, which means to fish new customers the Bait is going to need extra incentive. In my opinion, Disney has sweetened the pot, with its low cost. The reported price points are $6.99 a month or a year membership for only $69.99. This puts them at almost half of Netflix‘s standard plan, leaving lots of room for excitement. The service will be dropping November 12th 2019, and should be available on all major platforms including Roku, Smart Tv, mobile devices, game systems, etc.

Its time to get those Disney PJ on and schedule your binge party. I guess I have my Thanksgiving tthough Christmas planned out.

Give us your opinion, do you think the new streaming service is all it’s cracked up to be or will it fall flat? What shows/movies do you want to see included? Comment below.
