I can’t deny that I was a big fan of Lucifer on Fox. The mix of action, humor, and down right fun cast made for the perfect blend of prime time tv. the cancelation by Fox had many fans in an uproar, but was understood by many others. The change of the series from season 1-3 had been significant, and the overall personality of the show had began to fall in my opinion. Though It was not time for a cancelation, but more of a mix up of production. Either way, Fox decides it was time to walk away leaving the door open for others.
Jump to present day many months later, Netflix finally post a release date for their newly revamped Lucifer series. May 8th almost exactly a year from the date the series was canceled. Netflix has announced that season 4 will be a 10 part episode series. Though according to sources they will be splitting the 10 episodes into two parts, leaving us to believe we are only getting 5 episodes to start with on May 8th.
The series promises to be a little edgier now that Netflix has their hands on the Devil himself. Recently released teasers feature Tom Ellis in a new light and giving the Devil his due. many are worried though, that the Lucider series may loose a little of its charm if Netflix looses its suggestive naughty episodes, for a fully out in the open approach.
Only time will tell where the series is heading. We can rejoice that all of our regulars seem to be returning to the streaming channels attempt at resurecting the Devil.
May 8th Netflix
